There is a lot in today’s proverb that we could focus on (see vs 11 and 23.) But, since we talked yesterday about doing good and loving others well, I’m just going to mention vs. 17.

“Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.”

When we give to others, whether it’s our money, time, or talents, we are giving to the Lord. And the LORD from his endless supply of riches and goodness will repay us. We can take care of others knowing that God himself will take care of us.

Let’s give our all. Let’s pour ourselves out like a burnt offering (2 Timothy 4:6) in love and service to others. We will never regret giving to others if we view it as giving to the Lord.

Help us to be generous, Father, to those in need knowing you are more than generous with us.
