Psalm 119:57-64
How am I supposed to remain faithful in a fallen world? Where people are fickle. And tomorrow is uncertain.
How am I to manage when the enemy is so loud? And incites others to be so angry. So easily offended. So stingy with grace.
Today’s portion of Psalm 119 gives four tips for a healthy spiritual life.
Four Cs of a Christ Filled Life
- Commitment (v 57) – I promise to keep your words. We must decide – on the front end – to be committed to God’s Word. No one makes a battle plan in the midst of the battle.
- Conscious decisions (v 59) – when I think on my ways, I turn my feet to your testimonies. This is something we have all been taught. Think before you speak. Before you act. Think about what you are about to do and then make a conscious decision to do it God’s way.
- Crisis response (v 61) – though the wicked ensnare me, I do not forget your law. Even when we have been caught – when it may seem over and done – too late for rescue. Our crisis response must not be panic – but prayer.
- Companionship with fellow believers (v 63) – I am a companion of all who fear you. We must surround ourselves with fellow believers who will love, encourage, admonish, and stand shoulder to shoulder with us in battle.
