Psalm 31: In Your Hand

Psalm 31

Life is difficult. And it’s difficult for everyone. Our struggles differ but the feelings are often the same.

• Affliction (vs 7)
• Distress (vs 7, 9)
• Grief (vs 9)
• Sorrow (vs 10)
• Sighing (vs 10)
• Weakness (vs 10)
• Avoided (vs 11)
• Forgotten (vs 12)
• Broken (vs 12)
• Topic of Gossip (vs 13)
• Persecuted (vs 15)
• Surrounded (vs 21)

Each of us, at some point, has identified with one or more of the emotions on that list. Perhaps, you are there even now.

But there is good news.

“My times are in your hand…” (vs 15)

All our trials and triumphs. Pains and pleasures. Sufferings and successes. It’s all in God’s hands and there is no better place.

The Lord is a place of:

• Refuge (vs 1)
• Righteousness (vs 1)
• Rock (vs 2)
• Fortress (vs 2)
• Guidance (vs 3)
• Rescue (vs 4)
• Redemption (vs 5)
• Faithfulness (vs 5)
• Joy (vs 7)
• Gladness (vs 7)
• Deliverance (vs 8)
• Grace (vs 9)
• Love (vs 16)
• Goodness (vs 19)
• Protection (vs 20)
• Listening (vs 22)
• Preservation (vs 23)
• Strength (vs 24)
• Courage (vs 24)

He’s got the whole world – you and me – in his hands.
