Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple, and broke bread from house to house. They ate their food with joyful and sincere hearts. Acts 2:46
There are two important elements to Christian fellowship:
- Community Worship
- Breaking Bread
Just think of all that happens in those two areas of life.
When we worship – our hearts are softened. Our gazes are lifted. Our devotions are correctly directed. Our burdens are unloaded.
When we break bread or enjoy a meal – our guards are down. Our masks are cast aside. We pass juice and not judgement. Stories are shared. Laughter flows freely.
There – in the midst of the worship and fellowship – the church found the secret to doing life together. And it resulted in glad and generous hearts.
Thanks for this! One of my friends has started a charity, that tries to improve relations between young people of different faiths. The charity is called The Feast because of the power of food to bring people together.
I love that!
