Genesis 33 Unexpected Kindness

Genesis 33

Jacob was headed home. He was afraid and anticipated anger and revenge from Esau.

Aren’t you glad that we don’t always get what we deserve?

Instead of anger, Esau received Jacob with unexpected and undeserved kindness (v 4).

Much like the father received the prodigal son (Luke 15:20).

A lot like Jesus receives sinners.

I would love to know what happened in Esau’s heart to change his murderous rage into kindness and compassion. Only the Lord can do that. I hope we have testimony time in heaven for all the untold stories in Scripture or, as Paul Harvey would say, the rest of the story.

Whatever you’ve done today – you can come to Jesus. He is waiting with open arms and will receive you with unexpected and undeserved kindness and gentleness.
