About

Hi, my name is Stacy.

I am a pastor’s wife, a trucker’s daughter, and a mom to five beautiful daughters. My passions are equipping others to study Scripture for themselves, Bible journaling, foster care, and running.

I am an author (Devotions from the Front Porch,ย Devotions for Christmas, Devotions for Easter, Devotions from the Kitchen Table, Devotions for the Fall, 100 Favorite Hymns, and 100 Favorite Bible Prayers) and a regular contributor to HomeLife magazine.

I have a Masters in Christian Studies from Union University where I learned some amazing Greek words that serve me well when I need a really good password.

I have a not-so-secret crush on Lionel Richie.

I want to be Erma Bombeck when I grow up.

I’m longing for the day when my trophies, at last, I lay down.

Welcome to my little corner of the world. Make yourself at home.

  2. Stacy,
What a great blog site. Your post called Perfectly Still was so beautiful!! I am 4 months pregnant with my first and looking forward to the wonderful adventure of mommyhood. Thank you for sharing a little bit of your life and family.

    • Congratulations on your pregnancy. I love being a mommy! Thanks for visiting my blog. Hope you’ll come back. Have a great day!

  3. I’m here from Gypsy Mama…I will be spending a little time checking out your blog! I’m close to addicted to reality TV…it’s hard not too anymore since almost everything on TV is reality-based!!

    Blessings,

  4. I’m here from Lisa-Jo’s place too. Wow, you are one busy lady! ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m in grad school and working a multitude of part-time jobs, but I have no children! (although one very well-behaved husband). You must live in a constant state of grace. ๐Ÿ™‚

Great to meet you, I’ll be back soon. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Stacy, found you via (in)courage and wanted to read more of your writings. You have a gift that could only come from God. Your sharing is so real. I’m a native Nashvillian now living in Portland, OR, where I mentor in a Mothers of Preschoolers group with so many moms like you. I’ll be referring your blog along to them in a upcoming column I write on our MOPS blog (www.morelandmops.blogspot.com). Thanks for being you!

God’s blessings on your lovely family.

  6. Stacy,
Was just catching up on my blog reading this a.m. when I ran across your inCourage post ‘Covered in Grace’. It so spoke to my heart that I followed it here in order to keep reading – and was further blessed by ‘Keepin’ it Real’ & ‘Trust’.
I will be looking forward to more reading! (I also am reading @least two books on your ‘currently reading’ list) ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Blessed family! Flavored creamer addiction, hmmm; I never thought I might be addicted to it. Just can’t seem to drink my coffee without it. Came across your blog because I just wrote an article based on Jesus’ response to Peter in John 21.

    • Thanks so much for stopping by! I hopped over to your site and love it. I look forward to reading more of your writing this year.

      Blessings to you!

  9. Congratulations on being a homeschooler. We are about to enter our 11th year at it. I just take it one year at a time and we just haven’t stopped yet! It is a great bonding time. There are bumps along the way but I consider the Lord the Principal of our school and He keeps encouraging us to move forward in the way that works for us. ~ Wendy

    • I LOVE meeting moms who have been at this homeschooling thing for awhile. I am 4 weeks into my first year and it’s a bit overwhelming. I’m thankful my girls are having a blast and are still too young to know that I’m learning as I go! Thanks so much for stopping by my little corner of the web.

      Blessings!

  10. I had to come meet you after reading your twitter profile ๐Ÿ™‚ To my surprise you are a 5MF girl as I am! And I am probably (secretly) the biggest fan of The Pleated Poppy. My step-dad was a trucker! And I love your love language…but I do wonder…is it your own uninterrupted nap or the kiddos? Both sound amazing to me:) Anyway, glad to meet you and love your heart here!

    • It’s so great to meet you! I just love that we have so much in common! ๐Ÿ™‚ I have thought to myself that I want to be the Pleated Poppy when I grow up. ๐Ÿ™‚

And, I have been known to nap whether my children do or not. Lol. Especially when, like right now, the littlest is up at 3:00 a.m.

I will be looking for your 5MF post this week!

Thanks for stopping by to “see” me.

  11. Just met you today:) A friend sent me here. I’m thinking you might go to Living Hope, is this right? I do to and I also blog. I am a former homeschool mom of 14 years. My family also had to pack up and leave all our extended family in Ok to come here to KY. I know the feeling! But I always heard, ‘Bloom where God plants you” and I’ve been trying to do that over the last 10 years. I look forward to coming back here!
    Blessings~

    • I do go to Living Hope! My husband joined the staff almost a year ago. Would love to really meet you sometime. Maybe I’ll see you there! ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Mom of five and fellow pastor’s wife here. Loved reading through your posts. You have a way of sharing the ‘joys’ of motherhood that doesn’t come across as whiny or bitter (heaven forbid a mother get cranky now). Look forward to reading more.

    • Thanks so much for stopping by! Seems we have much in common. I look forward to hopping over and checking out your blog. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I’m not sure you will even see this but I had to leave it anyway. We are preparing make our very last move this side of glory and are to close on our house in Alabama, only 2 hours away from our grandchildren as opposed to 19. I asked God for 3 things, a garage for my husband, a fenced in yard for our dogs, and a front porch with a swing for me, all boxes checked. A few days ago I came across your book, Devotions From the Front Porch. I couldn’t wait for closing and have started to read it. Cornbread and Buttermilk took me back to my childhood where memories of my momma and granny always enjoyed Cornbread and Buttermilk. Thank you. Abundant blessings always my sister in Christ
