1 Thessalonians 3:1-13

👉 Paul and Silas

• willing to be left behind
• alone
• sent Timothy to encourage the church

👉 A Word on Afflictions

• do not be moved by them
• we are destined for them
• we are warned beforehand of them
• faith and love must continue
• stand steadfast in the Lord

👉 Paul’s Prayer

• that he would get to see the Thessalonians again
• that their love for one another would increase
• that their hearts would be established in holiness

I love the example here of the Thessalonian believers remaining steadfast in the Lord and continuing to love one another well in the midst of affliction. And this fact brought Paul such joy.

Oh that we would continue in faith and love when enduring affliction and rejoice when others do the same.
