Numbers 26:1-65

Numbers 26:1-65

πŸ‘‰ A second census is taken.

The first census was to number the men able to go to war.

This census was to determine the distribution of land in Canaan.

I find something amazing in the fact that the total numbers of the two censuses are nearly the same. This is a completely different set of people (except for Caleb and Joshua). The others all died in the wilderness as the Lord said they would.

Yet here – I wonder – as they numbered the people one by one – did they realize how God had given them back nearly to the number what their sin had cost them?

Our God is a restoring God.

There are consequences to sin. But there is grace in our God.

You are loved.
