Jeremiah 44:1-30

Jeremiah 44:1-30

👉 Jerusalem and all the cities of Judah are a desolation and no one dwells know them (v 1-2).

Why? (v 3-10)

  • they had committed evil
  • they provoked God to anger
  • made offerings to other gods
  • did not listen to the word of the Lord
  • did not humble themselves
  • did not walk in God’s statutes

👉 God warns that the same desolation is coming for those in Egypt. And the people respond with, “We will not listen to you.” (v 11-19)

👉 The arrogance. The audacity. The absolute foolishness.

But don’t we do the same? Maybe we don’t say those words – or maybe we do. But – with our actions – we tell God, “I will not listen to you.”

Forgive him?

Apologize?

Share the gospel with her?

Trust you?

Serve them?

Don’t worry?

Obey?

How often do our actions and attitudes say, “I will not listen to you”?

👉 Jeremiah warns the people (v 20-30):

  • the Lord punished your previous disobedience
  • disaster and bad things are coming for you now
  • God will make an end of you

👉 The question, then, is this: Will you listen to the Lord?

You are loved. ❤️
