Luke 22:35-46
And he [Jesus] came out and went, as was his custom, to the Mount of Olives… v 39
This one verse brought me comfort this morning. You see – Jesus knew Judas was coming for him. But Jesus did not change his routine even though Judas would have known exactly where to find him.
Luke has already told us that Jesus often withdrew to desolate places to pray (Luke 5:16, 6:12.)
Prayer – alone time with the Father – was his custom.
In good times.
In bad times.
In times of triumph.
In times of trial.
In times of celebration.
In times of betrayal.
The disciples – including Judas – knew where to find him. Because prayer was his custom.
We need to have the custom in place before the trial hits. We need to make a habit of running to the Father before the betrayal happens.
What is your custom? And will it serve you well when the hard times come?

Let my children tell their children
Let this be their memory
That all my treasure was in heaven
And You were everything to me

You are loved.
