Luke 6:37-49
We notice the external things.
Like a person who exudes the fruit of the Spirit. Or who is gracious with her words. Or who is unshaken in the midst of life’s storms.
These are all the result of unseen decisions made before the trials and tribulations of life arrive.
Deep roots of faith. The good treasure of God’s Word hidden in the heart. A firm foundation built on the promises of the Father.
We must decide, on the front end, what we believe to be true of God. There are decisions we make on the sunny days that will carry us through the stormy ones.

Henry Blackaby once said that God’s love for him was settled on the cross and, no matter what came his way in life, he would never question that love.
Good fruit.
Good words.
Good foundation.
