Luke 5:17-26
I love the story of these men. I don’t know how many were involved. Scripture just says “some men” (v 18).
These men (v 18-20):
• carried the paralytic
• sought a way to get him to Jesus
• climbed up to the roof
• lowered him down through the tiles
• believed on his behalf
Such effort was made on the part of these men for a fellow individual who could do none of it on his own. And isn’t that the way it should be for all of us.
Bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). That’s what we are commanded to do. And it takes effort on our part. It takes time. It takes awareness. It takes faith.
When Jesus saw “their faith” – he forgave the sins of the paralytic.
👉 Who needs us to bear their burden today? To have faith on their behalf today? To make the effort – to do whatever it takes – to get them to Jesus?
Happy Monday, friends.
