Genesis 17 God’s Promise is Greater Than Our Present Circumstance

Genesis 17

Abraham’s Present Situation:

• 100 years old
• Sarah is 90 years old
• Sarah is barren

God’s Promise (v 6-8):

• Abraham would be the father of many nations
• Abraham would be exceedingly fruitful
• kings would come from Abraham
• the covenant would be everlasting
• Abraham (and his offspring) would be given all the land of Canaan

👉 The enemy wants us so focused on our present pain that we forget about the promises of God.

Abram was 99 in this chapter. It had been 24 years since the original promise. There has been a lot of waiting. Probably some weariness. Likely some wondering.

God appeared and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me and be blameless.”

It was a reminder of who it was making the promise – God Almighty.

Nothing is impossible for Him.

Our role is to:
• walk before him {be faithful)
• be blameless {be obedient}

If you’re in a season of waiting – just keep walking. One step at a time until you see Jesus.
