Isaiah 13-14 When the Lord has given you rest…

Isaiah 13-14

The same event can mean very different things to different groups of people.

The day of the Lord – for example.

For the enemies of God, it means:

• battle
• destruction
• wrath
• anger
• desolation
• darkness
• punishment
• death
• no mercy
• wilderness

But, that same day, for the people of God brings:

• compassion
• a reminder of their status as “chosen”
• home
• rest
• quiet
• singing
• triumph over the enemy

Do you want an amazing promise to meditate upon tonight as you lay in bed?

“When the Lord has given you rest from your pain and turmoil…” Isaiah 14:3

When the Lord has given you rest…

If you are currently in the midst of pain and turmoil – the Lord promises rest.
