Proverbs 11 The Fruit of the Righteous

Proverbs 11

I don’t know about you but, for me, this winter has been bru. tal.

I mean – I am an introvert’s introvert and even I was getting stir crazy, y’all. So, when I read this proverb today, I zeroed in on the {almost} last verse.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life (v 30).

Then, as I sometimes like to do, I worked backwards. It made me think of spring as I read about fruit (v 30) and green leaves (v 28) and refreshing water (v 25) and rich growth (v 24).

The fruit of the righteous

• benefits the righteous (v 1-9)
• benefits entire cities (v 10-11)!
• benefits the offspring of the righteous (v 21)

It’s a win-win-win!

So, what is the fruit of the righteous?

• truth (v 1)
• humility (v 2)
• integrity (v 3)
• knowledge (v 9)
• understanding (v 12)
• trustworthiness (v 13)
• graciousness (v 16)
• kindness (v 17)
• steadfastness (v 19)
