David addressed two types of harm in this psalm.
👉 verbal attacks (v 3)
👉 physical attacks (v 4)
And he asked for protection from both. The enemy had violent hands and a sharp tongue. Just another reminder that words cause wounds.
We also have three beautiful promises.
- The Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted (v 12).
- The Lord will execute justice for the needy (v 12).
- The upright shall dwell in the presence of the Lord (v 13).
