Psalm 55
Earthly relationships can be so difficult. We misunderstand. We fall short. We disappoint.
In this psalm, David mourned the betrayal of a close friendship. Someone he considered to be a companion. He was restless and in anguish. This person had spoken kindly but planned evil.
But look at how David responds.
“But I call to God…Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan…” vs 16-17
He talk to God about it. In fact, David prayed three times a day and admitted that he mentioned it to God all three times. He complained..to God.
Not to his neighbor.
Not to other church goers.
Not to those who may side with him and make him feel better.
He took it to God.
I don’t know about you, but that was a word for me this morning.
I need to take my complaints and hurts to the Lord.
