The psalmist describes people who trusted in their wealth. They were prominent people who named properties after themselves. They were praised by others for their successes. All of their confidence was placed in these things.
And death was their shepherd (vs 14.)
Think about that for a minute.
For those who put their trust in Christ – the Lord is their shepherd (Psalm 23:1.)
When we place our trust in the things of the world, death is our shepherd and we are led to the grave.
When we place our trust in Christ, the Lord is our shepherd and we are led through the grave.
