Psalm 27: Goodness and Grief

Psalm 27

To be certain of struggle and doubt salvation and eventual singing would lead to hopelessness. To be certain of singing and reject the idea of suffering would leave one entirely unprepared for the real world.

I love that David was just as certain about the inevitability of struggle as he was about the promise of salvation and the surety of singing.

He did not fear the suffering because he had faith in the savior. He knew that the Lord would be faithful even if family forsook him (vs 10.) He believed that he would see the Lord’s goodness even in the midst of life’s grief.

Unwavering trust. It’s the theme of the week, y’all.
