Psalm 23
Sometimes, familiar passages are harder to study. We just think we know them so well. Psalm 23 is certainly one of those passages.
This is where it really comes in handy to 1) read the passage aloud and 2) break the passage apart.
{For example: What does it mean to “not want”? It sounds lovely and looks nice on a pillow, but what does it mean for me?}
David began this well loved psalm with the understanding that the Lord was his shepherd. All of the other lovely promises came from that realization.
Jesus told us himself what a good shepherd looks like in John 10 and Matthew 28. We are also given some telltale signs of bad shepherds in Ezekiel 34.
