The Blessing of Brokenness

If we want to make a difference in people’s lives, we must get really comfortable with brokenness. It doesn’t matter what our communities look like – suffering is the great equalizer. Brokenness knows no boundaries.

Discouragement and depression. Addiction and adultery. Loss and longing. Sin and sickness. Bitterness and betrayal. Pain and powerlessness.

The world treats brokenness as a burden. A thing to be avoided. Ashamed of.

But, in reality, brokenness is a blessing when it brings us to the healer. Lean in. Embrace it. Let it lead you to Jesus.

“But if it’s true that you use broken things, here I am, Lord, I’m all yours.” (Matthew West, Broken Things)
