Exodus 34: Changed – Inside and Out

Exodus 34

Have you ever met someone and just knew that they were a follower of Christ? That there was just something different about them?

…his face shown because he had been talking with God (Exodus 34:29.)

When Moses returned from the mountain, his face shone because he had spent time talking with God. The people saw a visible difference in him. We see a similar situation in the book of Acts.

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John…they recognized that they had been with Jesus (Acts 4:13.)

In one instance the change is external and in the other it’s internal. But the idea is the same – an encounter with God should change us.

We should look differently.

We should speak differently.

We should think differently.

We should respond differently.

This chapter made me stop and ask myself: What should be different about me after spending time with God?

If nothing changes in the way I respond to the world around me, to the anxiety within me, to the attacks against me, to the brokenness before me – I have to question whether I have been spending time with God or just taking pretty pictures.
