Exodus 12: A New Beginning

Exodus 12

“This month shall be for you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year for you” (verse 2.)

The children of Israel had been enslaved for years. 430 years (verse 41.) 👉 Have you ever been in a place so difficult that it felt like nothing would ever change?

As God prepared to bring his people up out of bondage and into freedom, he told them that it was a new day for them. It was a beginning. It was the start of a new year. One day, looking back, they would tell their children that this was the moment when everything changed.

Through the prophet Isaiah, God told the people, “Behold, I am doing a new thing” (Isaiah 43:19.)

The same message is spoken in Revelation 21:5, “Behold I am making all things new.”

It’s what God does for his people. He makes us new. When we come to the Father, it is a new day – a fresh beginning.

We just have to embrace it. We have to live in it. We have to accept it. We draw the line in the sand and say, “Today is the beginning of something new for me.”

It’s a new day, my friends.
