Exodus 8
God wanted the people to go into the wilderness and worship him.
Pharaoh offers to let them stay close and sacrifice.
In other words, Pharaoh wanted to obey his way. But partial obedience is outright disobedience.
While it may look differently in our lives, we often attempt to compromise on the commands of Christ. We try to get away with partial obedience.
Maybe we think “not hating” our neighbor should satisfy the command to love our neighbor.
Perhaps we say we have forgiven an offense but we reserve the right to bring it up at anytime.
Lord, give us hearts that long to obey completely. No compromises. No procrastination. Obedience – all the way and right away.
