“For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you. He makes peace in your borders; he fills you with the finest of the wheat.”
Can I just be honest? Sometimes, my anxiety runs away with me.
I hear of people breaking into cars in my neighborhood and I begin to worry.
I read animosity online and feel at odds with everyone.
I see empty shelves at the grocery store and fear begins to slip in.
Today’s psalm – by no accident – speaks to the very things that have been troubling me. In just two verses, God reminds me that He – and He alone – provides protection, peace, and provision. He can be trusted to do the things that He has promised to do.
Maybe someone else needed to reminded of that as well.
You are loved.
