Some days, I wake up bright eyed and ready for the day. Most days, however, I have to make choices.
There are some mornings when, as soon as my mind awakes, it is racing with worry. I feel anxious but the anxiety has no specific source. Fear of the future creeps in. Time seems to be slipping through my hands.
This verse spoke to me this morning. Whatever I allow to overcome me – fear, doubt, anxiety, envy – I become a slave to that thing.
And, so, I must choose. Choose peace. Choose faith. Choose trust. Choose joy. Choose Christ. Over and over and over again.
