A Proverb a Day (11/31)

“What if I am always putting others first and no one is putting me first?”

That is what someone asked me after a recent post. “What about me?” And I totally get it. Truly, I do. And God does too and, so, he has an answer for that. 😉

Today’s proverb outlines what a righteous person can expect in return for all of their right living. Let’s take a look.

Proverbs 11

A man who is kind benefits himself (verse 17.)

One who sows righteousness gets a sure reward (verse 18.)

The offspring of the righteous will be delivered (verse 21.)

The desire of the righteous ends only in good (verse 23.)

Whoever brings a blessing will be enriched (verse 25.)

One who waters will himself be watered (verse 25.)

When we obey the Lord by uplifting others, being kind to others, blessing others, and watering others, we don’t have to worry, “What about me?” Because the Lord Himself sees and rewards appropriately (Ephesians 6:8.)

What if I put others first and no one puts me first? Well, God put me first a long time ago when he put his son on a cross.
