Five Minute Friday: Risk

Sometimes, God asks us to say “yes” before He has even asked the question.  He wants us to begin walking before He has given us the destination.  He asks us to choose Him over comfort, to step out and take a risk.  It’s scary and daunting and it’s easier to crawl back into our cocoon of the familiar.  But what a sad, safe existence that would be.

Following Him wherever He leads is painfully scary at times.  Yet, step by step, if we faithfully follow He proves Himself faithful time and time again.  Through the dark times and through the lonely times – we keep walking.  We keep risking.  We keep believing.

We risk falling because we believe He will lift us up again.  We risk rejection because He too was rejected. We risk everything this world has to offer because we realize that this world, in reality, has nothing to offer us.

Whatever God is asking you to do today – it, most likely, requires you to take a risk.  Do it.  Take that leap.  Reach out to that person. Put yourself out there.

Christ is worth the risk.

  1. I love how you started this…God wants us to say YES before He asks the question. It’s so hard to do it with my feeble faith, but the more I say YES, the more my faith becomes ferocious!

Thanks for sharing your heart, LeeBird

  2. Oh, yes: “He wants us to begin walking before He has given us the destination.” What a risk that is, but so true, and such an example of faith.

Your post reminded me of Hebrews 4:15 and 1 John 4:19. Great five minute!

    • Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I hope you have a great weekend!
