A quiet life. That, Paul says, should be our aim.
Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life. – 1 Thessalonians 4:11
Rest. Quit running hither and thither. Mind your own business. These are all aspects of the word used here for “quiet.”
Isn’t this the opposite of what we do these days? We are on information overload. We check Facebook or Twitter throughout the day to make sure we didn’t miss what someone had for breakfast. We fill our days with activities and entertainment.
We are so stinkin’ busy. And we are teaching our children to live the same way.
What if, for just a moment, we were quiet?
Have you been eavesdropping on my life again? Ouch!
Nancy
Oh girl – don’t we all do it? Busy, busy, busy and no time for quiet. Happy Monday!
