First Grade

Dear Emily,

Today is your first full day of 1st grade.  I am so incredibly proud of you.  It seems like only yesterday that I sent you off to kindergarten.

I forgot to take your picture this morning 🙁 so you will have to imagine it right here.

But, please know that tonight I will be braiding your hair, ironing your skirt and dressing you up all over again so that I can capture the needed “first day of school” picture. 🙂

I have learned so much being your mommy.  You make me desperate to be like Christ because I know you are watching my every move and will imitate much of what I do.

I forgot to take your picture, but I did not forget to pray for you.  🙂

And I have cupcakes waiting for you when you get home.

I love you, doodlebop.

  1. (Hugs) First days of school are so often harder for the moms than the kids. May Emily not only have a wonderful year at school, but may she provide an example of Christ to her classmates as you provide one to her!

  2. Happy 1st day of school! I’m going to be a big crybaby when the girls go to school. =p Here’s to a great school year!

  3. I’m touched, and I’m not even your 1st grader! I trust she had an exciting and blessed first day of school. She will surely have a good year having you in her corner.

  4. Great post!!! My little one just started kindergarten this past Monday so I share your feelings.
