Unleash His Power

I have always loved the story about the woman with the issue of blood.  She was considered lower than low by those around her.  She had tried everything and man could do nothing for her.  But then she heard about Him…Jesus.  I can not even imagine the desperation as she fought through the crowd…fully realizing that this was her one chance to be healed.  And so, she stretched out her hand and she touched Him.  She touched Him.  And then there is this verse…one which, in recent weeks, has become a new favorite of mine.

At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him… – Mark 5:30

I love Nicole C. Mullin.  She has long been a favorite Christian artist of mine.  She sings a song called One Touch and it is about this story.  There is a line in there that blows me away…“and then, suddenly, He turned around / He said somebody has unleashed my power.”  This woman unleashed the power of God!  The power that heals the sick.  The power that raised people from the dead.  The power of God, people!  That just boggles my mind.  Mind you, it was not her touch that unleashed the awesomeness of God…it was her faith.  When we live in complete faith – we have the ability to unleash the power of God Himself in our lives.

There is a family that needs the unleashing of God’s power…they have been on my heart for several weeks now.  Please take a moment to visit this site, take in their story and pray.  Pray for God to show Himself mighty.  Of course, our prayer is for total healing on this side of heaven.  But, she also lists other ways that they are in need of prayer.

If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up. – Daniel 3:17-18

This is what it means to rest in the sovereignty of God and to trust in His love for us.  We know He is able, but if He chooses not to grant healing…we love and serve Him anyway knowing one day we will see everything clearly.

  1. This part spoke to me: “This is what it means to rest in the sovereignty of God and to trust in His love for us. We know He is able, but if He chooses not to grant healing…we love and serve Him anyway knowing one day we will see everything clearly.”

Thank you Stacy- for your message and for your prayers for our family!

  2. Hi Stacy,
Quick question for you if that’s o.k.? I was reading through some of your old posts (which are great by the way!!!) and I see you are working on reading through the bible! Awesome! Being a newer christian (about 4 yrs or so) reading through the bible is something I haven’t done yet. I know they have all the reading plans out there and such, but how are you doing it? Where to start and how to keep up etc? I am kind of a bible junkie always looking for a different one or one I will “understand” better and I finally just got one with some devotionals in it that really speak to me where I am now (although sometimes I catch myself reading the devotions more then the actual scripture….) My question is…how do you do it? Sometimes it’s still harder for me at times to read my bible to be totally honest. I wish it wasn’t, it just can be…anyway, enough of my rambling for the moment…just wondering how you are doing it? Thanks.
    Blessings,
    Stacy
